A "Super" Dose of Coldplay
January 24, 2003 9:11 PM
Coldplay.com just released this information today:
On Sunday January 26, two hours after the Superbowl ends, Coldplay will perform live from Hollywood Blvd for the premiere of the Jimmy Kimmel Show. The show is scheduled to air live on ABC at Midnight ET, 9:00 PM PT.
Los Angeles Coldplay fans who want to see the band perform in person should head down to Hollywood Blvd in front of the Kodak Theater. The entire street will be closed to traffic between Highland and La Brea so make sure you get there well before 9:00 PM. Please note, this is a live, one-song Coldplay performance, not a full-scale Coldplay concert.

U.S. Tour Support Details
January 24, 2003 9:09 PM
I've been getting a lot of emails recently from people wondering who will be opening for Coldplay on the upcoming U.S. tour. Well, the following comes from The Official Coldplay Site and should answer your questions:
Support on the U.S tour comes from Ron Sexsmith on the first leg and The Music on the second leg. Chris did a song with Ron Sexsmith, "Gold in Them Hills", available on Ron's new album, "Cobblestone Runway".
There's also a new band made up of various family members (three sisters, a brother and a cousin, the oldest is 20) called MossEisley. They're heavily influenced by Coldplay and they'll be on all three Texas dates (Houston, Dallas, Austin). To find out more, visit their website www.mosseisley.com.

Coldplay to Headline V2003
January 21, 2003 9:28 PM
The organisers of V2003 have confirmed that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining the event.
They will be joined by Coldplay at the gigs at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on August 16 and 17.
The rest of the "strong line-up" will be revealed in the coming months.
Tickets go on sale on March 8, via the festival's official website at www.vfestival.com.
Festival director Simon Moran says: "It's amazing to see a band like Coldplay who started out in 2000 with a mid-afternoon slot on stage 2 and an early evening slot on the V Stage in 2001, come back to headline the V Festival in 2003.
"And welcome back The Red Hot Chili Peppers who headlined at V in 2001, especially now they are taking the whole of the UK by storm. We are looking at one of our best weekends yet."

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin shocked onlookers at a New Zealand restaurant this weekend by publicly serenading girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.
The In My Place singer sat down at the restaurant piano and sang some of the band's biggest songs, including Yellow, for around 20 minutes - watched by an devoted Paltrow.
Guests at the exclusive Pequena Spanish restaurant were treated to the free concert, with one witness telling British tabloid The Sun, "Instead of looking embarrassed, Gwyneth watched adoringly as he performed."
Paltrow is currently filming biopic Ted and Sylvia in the country - and lovesick Martin has flown out to be with her.

Playing it Shy
January 18, 2003 12:10 AM
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been going to extraordinary lengths to prevent herself being photographed with her rocker boyfriend Chris Martin - including smuggling herself into his gigs in a metal box.
The camera-shy singer and the Ted and Sylvia actress have been dating since late last year, but have been avoiding the media hype surrounding their relationship by keeping their meetings away from prying paparazzi.
A source says, "Gwyneth has been to nearly all of Coldplay's gigs since they met last summer, but she hasn't been noticed because they sneak her in.
"She's used some disguises and on a few occasions, they've even wheeled her in in one of those metal sound-equipment caskets."
