Still Riding High

August 07, 2003 9:13 PM

As we all know, Coldplay's sophomore album, "A Rush of Blood to the Head," was released nearly a year ago on August 27, 2003 (U.S.). Amazingly enough, sales have been cruising along since then, and the band has seen its platinum record floating at the top of the albums charts for months on end. The following excerpt comes from an article over at RollingStone.com:

There was little else of note happening on the charts, though Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head" warrants mention. Propelled by successful videos for "The Scientist" and "Clocks," the album sits at Number Eighteen, returning to the Top Twenty just three weeks shy of its one-year anniversary.

And Now, Guy!

August 05, 2003 5:59 PM

Right after we were presented with a great interview with Jonny, we're given an even better one with Guy from The Nation. The following is just a small excerpt from the interview, which I suggest every Coldplay fan read:

After a break, Coldplay will begin work on its third album.

Berryman admits there is pressure. "But it’s not worrying, exactly. It’s exciting," he says. "I go to bed happy knowing that we'll be in studio soon. When I’ve been in the studio too long, I’ll be eager to perform."

"We always want to improve in terms of musicianship and singing."

A Few Jabs at Chris

July 30, 2003 12:26 AM

Writer Chris Sams from SMH.com in Australia has taken a few jabs at Chris in his latest article, titled "Come off it, Mr Paltrow." In the article, Mr. Sams accuses Chris Martin of being "aggressive," and of having a "touch of egomania."

Reading the full article will most likely get you a bit steamed, so don't say I didn't warn you. Unfortunately, this time around the writer wasn't brave enough to post an email address. Based on other email addresses I've seen on the site, though, you'll probably be able to vent any complaints to csams@smh.com.au.
