Chris Records with Kanye West
February 15, 2006 8:54 PM
Coldplay singer Chris Martin has reportedly recorded a track with US hip-hop superstar Kanye West at the famous Abbey Road Studios.
West is currently recording the soundtrack for the new 'Mission: Impossible' film at the legendary studio in London and Coldplay were also in the complex recording a special gig for Radio 2 earlier this week.
After West went to watch Coldplay's gig, the pair decided to get together for a jamming session and, according to sources, came up with a song that could feature on West's next album.
A studio insider said: "Kanye didn't mind being interrupted and after Coldplay's show, Chris joined him in the recording booth for a jamming session.
"They did a track together which sounded amazing. Fingers crossed it will see the light of day."
Coldplay and Kanye West will both be taking to the stage at the Brit Awards at Earl's Court in London on Wednesday evening.

Chris Martin Drops Trou
February 14, 2006 8:17 AM
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin almost showed his audience of 7,000 fans too much on Tuesday night, when his trousers dropped to his feet onstage, according to reports flying around the internet.
Chris was apparently in the middle of a performance in Anaheim, California, when an over-looked glitch in his outfit resulted in him being left standing almost naked in front of his fans.
Demonstrating a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, Martin looked to his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, in the VIP section and joked, "You can only really get away with this if you've got an a** as good as Brad Pitt's".
Gwyneth, who dated Brad from 1995 to 1997, blushed at the joke as the singer began reciting a song about his hiney.
His band members then began to play along to the made-up lyrics, which included, "It should never have come to pass, that you caught sight of my a**!"
Following the performance, Martin explained his reasoning for the invented song, "I realised I had to make a joke of it. Luckily it went down pretty well - just like my pants!"

Paul Weller Slams Coldplay
February 11, 2006 1:50 PM
Paul Weller says Coldplay "bore the s**t" out of him.
The singer, who will collect a Lifetime Achievement at next week's Brit awards, also admitted he can't stand listening to 'You're Beautiful' singer James Blunt.
He stormed: "I don't get Coldplay and James Blunt. They bore the s**t out of me. I've met Chris Martin and I don't want to slag him off because he's a lovely lad, but his music is too f**king bland."
Weller also lashed out at U2.
The former Jam frontman insists he's never been a fan of the Irish rockers and can't understand why singer Bono is viewed as such a saintly figure.
He told Britain's Arts and Books Review magazine: "Never liked them. That whole thing of Bono becoming the Pope, what the f**k is that all about? Pseudo-American rubbish."

Michael Stipe and Chris Martin Team Up for Charity
February 03, 2006 12:27 AM
REM's Michael Stipe has teamed up with Coldplay's Chris Martin for a charity single to continue aid for Hurricane Katrina victims.
This Sunday, following the Super Bowl (February 5) Stipe's duet with Martin on the Joseph Arthur-penned song 'In the Sun' will premiere on US television drama 'Grey's Anatomy'.
The following day it will be available for purchase solely on iTunes, with proceeds going to benefit Mercy Corps.
"The news cycle has moved on and I don't want the public to forget about those who were affected by Katrina or to believe that everything is fine now," Stipe said in a statement yesterday.
He added: "It's a unique place, not only to this country but to the world. I had to do something as a Southerner. I had to do something as a public figure. The one thing I can do is sing, and it's probably the best way to get people to pay attention."
The song features piano by Fountains Of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger and production by Stipe with ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha.
In addition to the duet with Martin, the single will be available in a number of formats on iTunes, including a live version recorded by Coldplay and Stipe at the Texas music festival Austin City Limits earlier this year, as well as a remix by Justin Timberlake and Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am.
'In The Sun' will also be featured in a documentary film of the same name, which airs on US cable network the Sundance Channel later this year. Stipe, Martin and a number of hurricane survivors are interviewed in the picture.
The full track listing of 'In the Sun' is:
