More Band Breakup Rumors
July 14, 2006 6:49 AM
It seems like every time the band puts out an album and does a major supporting tour, just as things start to wind down a bit the media starts putting out rumors about the band splitting up. They've never been true, so I'm guessing this round things are no different. That said, I can go into details on what is currently being reported by itv and others:
Coldplay front man Chris Martin has fuelled speculation that the band are set to split.
Now pay attention to the rest of the article, which really says nothing about a split at all (and realize just how desperate the media is to make headlines):
Speaking in Hong Kong, Martin admitted that it might be some time before the band release another album.
"We won't do another album until we think we've written the best songs in history, and that could take a while," he said.
"So we could be waiting, 20 years or 50 years. Who knows? All we know is we're playing this evening in Hong Kong.
"And tomorrow, we don't know what's happening. So our next record seems like a long way away."
Martin and fellow band members Guy Berryman (Bass), Johnny Buckland (Guitar) and Will Champion (drums) are in Asia for their Twisted Logic Tour.
If anything, Chris' comments should be fueling speculation that the band will be together for many, many years to come! ;)
So don't get worried yet. Based on the history of the band, they'll be working on an album in the relatively near future and will doubless to through the whole cycle yet again.

Coldplay Documentary Delayed
July 13, 2006 8:04 AM
A behind-the-scenes documentary of Coldplay's world tour has been put on hold because frontman Chris Martin is too busy to edit the footage. The rocker commissioned his filmmaking best pal to shoot over 600 hours of film as he followed the notoriously publicity shy group as they toured their X&Y album.
But Martin insists he must be involved in putting the TV documentary together and is currently to busy to go into the editing room for an extended period of time.
An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "The camera has been with them all over the globe capturing some amazing gigs and special moments. It's brilliant stuff but as there's loads of it, editing won't be simple. Chris is very hands-on with Coldplay and wanted to check everything himself. The footage that's been viewed so far is cracking, so it's a shame the project might not see the light of day."

A Bit Wimpy?
July 13, 2006 8:01 AM
Coldplay crooner Chris Martin has been named and shamed in a list of the top ten most pathetic singers.
Chris, 29, who is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow and named his children Apple and Moses, came ninth in a poll by US mag Blender.
It said his worst moment was being called "a bit wimpy" by Charlotte Church.
"Beautiful" singer James Blunt got an honourable mention in the poll, topped by folk-rocker James Taylor.

Funny Quote from Jonny
July 13, 2006 7:55 AM
There's a funny quote from Jonny Buckland over at The Electric New Paper:
Guitarist Buckland, 27, told The New Paper, tongue firmly in cheek: "Chris is the face, Will is the leg, Guy is the arm and I'm the chest hair."
