Brian Eno Producing New Coldplay Album
January 27, 2007 9:55 AM
Brian Eno has revealed he is to produce Coldplay's fourth album.
Billboard.com reports that Eno revealed the news in an interview with BBC Radio 4's 'Front Row', and says the new material "will be very original and very different from what they've done before."
Coldplay are currently holed up in their recently purchased London studio, having started arranging the follow-up to 2005's 'X&Y' last October.
Guitarist Jonny Buckland last year revealed exclusively to NME.com that the band started writing the new album as soon as they completed 'X&Y'.
The band will showcase the new material to fans on their Latin American tour, which kicks off on February 14 in Santiago, Chile.

Chris Martin to Appear on Next Kanye West Album
January 20, 2007 6:13 PM
As previously reported here, Chris Martin recently contributed to the song "Beach Chair" on rapper Jay-Z's comeback album.
Today, NME is reporting that Chris has contributed to a track on Kanye West's upcoming album. The track is titled "Homecoming" and is scheduled to be the first single off the album, which is tentatively titled "Graduation."
While it is definitely catchy, I'm not the biggest fan of "Beach Chair," so I'm really hoping this next collaboration ends up living up to the hype.
As always, stay tuned for more details as they become available.

New Coldplay Album Forthcoming?
January 20, 2007 6:04 PM
Digital Spy is reporting that Coldplay's next album is nearing completion, much further ahead of schedule than previously anticipated:
"There's no-one more surprised than the band. They genuinely did intend to take these sessions at a very leisurely pace," a source told the Daily Star. "However, they went better than anyone could possibly have hoped for and a vast amount of material is already in the can."
This is exciting news, but this is the first I've heard of it from any news source. I'll be sure to post more details if they show up in other places. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed.

The short film is entitled 'Coldplay Dance Anthems 1906' and is set in "olde London town".
Shot in sepia, the band are dressed in period costume and dancing to a collection of techno songs, including a snatch of their own track 'Clocks'.
"I would just like to wish you all a merry Christmas. I predict railways will be big in the future," jokes guitarist Jonny Buckland.
