Shakenstir has a new review online of Coldplay's warm-up show for Glastonbury that was played in Liverpool on June 20th. Many discussion forum members might remember downloading "Daylight" from my site, which was recorded from that same show.
Anyhow, I have been told that Chris Martin liked the review so much that it will be included as part of the press release for 'A Rush of Blood to the Head.' To read the review, click here.

There is a new interview/article in 'The Observer' magazine which can be read in its entirety at www.observer.co.uk. Some excerpts from the article appear below:
Speaking of Chris Martin: "He desperately wants to provide an alternative to boy bands and disposable pop. He wants instead to make music of depth and soul that chimes with the masses."
And, on the new album: "Martin wanted to make a record that challenges his favourite epic rock benchmarks, Radiohead's The Bends and U2's The Unforgettable Fire. That's just what A Rush of Blood to The Head 's grand majesty does."
The article/interview then goes on about Chris' love-life and the little oddities that make him who he is. It is really a great read, so check it out.

Glastonbury Download and 'Bez'
July 25, 2002 11:21 PM
Well, the people have spoken...a few of them, at least. I put up notice over a week ago that I would be offering a download from Coldplay's Glastonbury set and that you, the visitors, would get to choose which track it would be. 28% of those who voted chose 'In My Place' as their track of choice, but 42% voted for 'God Put a Smile Upon Your Face,' declaring it the overall winner. The download is now available in the discussion forum. Thanks to all those who made their voice heard.
In slightly strange, unrelated news, I found a small article on Q Magazine's website that talks about a guy named 'Bez' who apparently has been clairvoyant enough to give Coldplay a warning: "I've seen the future and it's important Coldplay make sure they don't enter stage right. They have to enter from the left. Forget that right side entry it won't work out, and it's a bit like smashing a mirror - it will bring them very, very bad luck. Terrible things will happen." Ooooookay ;)

Official Album Website

Many of you have probably already noticed that the image of the new album cover off to the right of every page on my site takes you to the official web page for 'A Rush of Blood to the Head.' What you might not have noticed is that hovering over certain spots on the sculpture graphic will reveal hidden goodies.
So far I've found 'In My Place' audio, video and lyrics, audio for the song 'One I Love' (Windows Media / Real), the album's official tracklist, and audio for the song 'I Bloom Blaum' (Windows Media / Real).
Spotted any other goodies on the site? If you'd care to share, send me an email.
