Coldplay Debuts at #5 in the USA

Unfortunately for us all, the Dixie Chicks came in at #1 in the USA this past week, with sales of about 780,000 albums. However, Coldplay's 141,000 copies sold was enough to enter them in the U.S. charts at the #5 spot.
The good news is, even though they didn't debut at #1 like they did in the UK, this album is so full of potential singles that they're guaranteed to be lingering in the top spots for quite a while. Then again, I've never been one to let album sales weigh on how I feel about an album or a band. I think 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' is an amazing effort by Chris and the gang, and can't wait to see them on stage tonight at the Paramount. I don't feel ashamed quoting Playlouder when I say, "Coldplay are flippin' wonderful."
