With the release of Coldplay's 3rd album imminent, Coldplay news is coming in left and right from all over the place. Here's a quick roundup of some of the things that have been flying around the 'net today.
antiMUSIC is reporting that the first single off of X&Y, "Speed of Sound," has shot to #1 on all 15 of Apple's iTunes Music Stores worldwide. Among the 15 countries represented are the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada. This just shows that Coldplay fans across the globe are chomping at the bit for new music from their favorite band.
In the typical "end of the world" type of reporting that seems to follow Coldplay wherever they go, Stereoboard is reporting that X&Y may be the band's final album if it is as successful as the previous two. They quote Chris admitting "It'd be nice to just leave it as the trilogy, y'know?"
And finally, The GATE offers good news to the band's Canadian following. They are reporting that tickets go on sale tomorrow for a Toronto show at the Kool Haus on May 11th. Tickets are $30 and there is a 2 ticket limit.
Without a doubt, I'll be posting more here very, very soon. So stay tuned!
