British rockers Coldplay will release their third album, X&Y, on June 7th, to be followed by an extensive world tour, kicking off June 15th in Germany.
"Everyone is playing at the top of their game," guitarist Jonny Buckland said of the follow-up to 2002's Grammy-winning A Rush of Blood to the Head. "Chris [Martin's] voice is sounding amazing." Supporting acts for the tour thus far include Interpol, Doves and Supergrass.
X&Y was recorded in the U.K. with producers Danton Supple (Morrissey) and Ken Nelson (Kings of Convenience, Badly Drawn Boy). The album's first single, "Speed of Sound," will hit radio in May.
On Friday, Coldplay will play a "secret" show at Los Angeles' Troubadour, before headlining KCRW's "A Sounds Eclectic Evening" at the Universal Ampitheatre on Saturday.
