An event featuring stars from Bollywood and Hollywood is being planned in California to raise money for various organizations that offer aid to India.
Popular music acts from India scheduled to perform during the June 8 One Night for India event at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion include Talvin Singh, Nitin Sawhney and Karsh Kale.
North American artists Michelle Branch and Macy Gray are also expected to make an appearance, while Peter Gabriel and Coldplay are to be seen performing by remote satellite.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the American India Foundation.
One Night for India will be filmed and recorded for DVD/CD and television distribution.
This is an unprecedented cross-cultural affair designed to showcase the power of the Indian and Western entertainment industries in raising the world's awareness of the AIDS pandemic facing India, said Mark Porter, event co-founder and co-chairman of the One Night Foundation.
Ticket prices for the event range from $25 for single tickets to $500 for VIP packages.
They go on sale Friday through Ticketmaster and at the event's official website, OneNightForIndia.com.
