T in the Park and Changing the Face of Pop

Coldplay closed the T in the Park festival on Sunday in front of an audience of 55,000. Apparently one of those in attendance was Chris' girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow. Chris got quite a rise out of the Scottish fans when he changed the lines of "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" to "God gave you light and gave you dark/God gave you tickets for T in The Park."

TeenMusic is reporting that Coldplay plans to "change the face of pop." When lead singer Chris Martin was asked to elaborate, he said "mainstream pop culture is so awful and so bland and so packaged. Our goal is to change the mainstream. We don't want to just keep ourselves a secret. We want to fight to have sincere music be the main thing again."
