Getting Back on the Ball

Now that we've gotten all those reviews out of the way, let's cover what the band has been up to for the past couple of weeks.
First off, Coldplay was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for "Choice Rock Group." They're up against Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down, Audioslave, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Sum 41 and the White Stripes. Those awards are scheduled to be handed out on August 6th in LA.
Dan wrote in again from BBC 6Musicto let us all know that they've added "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" to their setlist. Be sure to check out their site and tune in!
There's a great little article over at NME that everyone should read. It talks about Coldplay's U.S. tour finale at MSG, and how a fan, Kristy, who bid $350,000 to sing with the band at the concert, got to sing most of an acoustic version of "In My Place" on stage in front of all the fans.
LAUNCH is reporting that Coldplay has announced "The Scientist" to be their next single in the U.S. This doesn't really come as a surprise, but one thing in the article that is worth noting 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' has apparently sold 1.7 million copies in the United States alone.
And if you haven't had enough at this point, here's some more Coldplay goodness for you to mull over:
