Coldplay has placed tickets to six of its upcoming North American concerts on the auction block in the name of charity. From now until May 15, fans can bid to place their name on the band's guest list to the sold-out shows. Moneys raised from the sale of the tickets will be donated to Amnesty International. To bid on the tickets, visit amnestyusa.org/musicforhumanrights.
An Amnesty International information booth will be set up at select Coldplay shows.
After bidding on the tickets is completed on May 15, a new auction will begin for an autographed copy of the band's A Rush Of Blood To The Head album.
According to several British publications, Coldplay donates 10 percent of its earnings to various charities, such as Amnesty International and the Oxfam Fair Trade organization--which campaigns to end the exploitation of Third World businesses by Western corporations.
Amnesty International is a worldwide voluntary human rights group that aims to protect the basic rights of people around the world.
