A Handful of Articles and Tour News

There is a great article over at USAToday.com titled "Coldplay Searching for a Balance" that is worth checking out. Here's a small excerpt from the interview:
"I'm a tremendously arrogant young man," Martin confesses during a poolside conversation at the Chateau Marmont. "I believe in my band to ridiculous extents. There's a little side of every singer that believes what he's doing is the best thing ever."
In the "Times Picayune" newspaper, it was revealed that the band has been playing new material at their recent shows. Apparently the band played a "midtempo" 'Moses' and 'A Ladder to the Sun' amidst their more familiar tunes at the Saenger Theater on January 27th. The article, which also labels Coldplay the "British band of [the] moment" is one you should definitely read if you've got some spare time.
CBS also has an interesting article about the fate of the Jimmy Kimmel Show, which featured Coldplay playing live the night of the Super Bowl. The writer wasn't too impressed by the way the premier ended: "Was it my imagination or did he conclude the first show by cutting off the rock and roll band Coldplay in the middle of a song?" I had the same reaction ;)
And on the touring front, I've gotten some great reviews from fellow Coldplay fans who have been lucky enough to catch some of the latest shows. Kelly wrote in and said "My neck hurt SO bad for the next three days from swinging it around so much!" after seeing the band in New Orleans. A special thanks goes out to Scott, as well, who sent in a setlist from the Dallas show on Friday night:
- God Put a Smile Upon Your Face
- Warning Sign
- One I Love
- Don't Panic
- Everything's Not Lost
- Life is For Living
- In My Place
- Ladder to the Sun
