'The Scientist:' Next Single

Coldplay will issue "Scientist" as the next single from its second album, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, according to the group's official website (coldplay.com). The piano ballad follows the guitar-driven rock of its predecessor, "In My Place," which can currently be heard on multiple radio formats.
With A Rush Of Blood To The Head, the U.K. band is well on its way to matching the success of its million-selling first album, Parachutes. More than a quarter-million units of Rush... have been sold in its first three weeks.
However, guitarist/songwriter Jonny Buckland tells LAUNCH he and his bandmates never put pressure upon themselves to match the success of Parachutes. "No, not really. We were just desperate to go in and record," he says. "We had been touring for two years and we had written a lot of new stuff. So we were really excited about the opportunity to go in to record another album and do something different and record the songs the way we wanted to with who we wanted to and take the time we wanted to as well."
Coldplay closes out its current round of U.S. dates with a show Tuesday (September 24) in Chicago.
